The Self DETERMINATOR

In The Self DETERMINATOR, interdisciplinary artist and critical comedian Naya de Souza employs comedy as a political weapon to examine post-truth governance and the collapse of moral coherence in contemporary global politics. The Stand Up Lecture performance draws a parallel between the self-determination law and the lived reality of a trans woman, addressing through sharp jokes or lip sync, how political leaders, billionaires, and even minorities aligned with conservative power claim identities they do not enact, while directing political violence toward the other 1%( transgender people) who pose no harm yet remain systematically targeted for no concrete reason.
