EL MUNDO AL VUELO/THE WORLD ON THE FLY

The world on the fly by NAYA DE SOUZA & NADIA GRANADOS

Inspired by 1980s futuristic fiction, such as the series Voyagers!, in which a duo consisting of a man and a teenager travelled through time and space to alter history.

We are interested in the audiovisual techniques of the 1980s: bodies moving across galaxies, suddenly appearing and disappearing in contexts and eras shaped by action and drama. Interrupted romantic scenes and moments of danger, in which the protagonists narrowly escape being devoured by lions by activating their journey through time and space. We consider pop culture, journalism, and social media imagery to be the most powerful forces shaping and transforming our perception of reality and our imagination of the world and its possible futures.

This imaginary world serves as a catalyst for the encounter between two performance artists whose practices explore the relationship between fiction, archives, and history.
